Chapter 20

In the midst of the night, Samantha notices two radars leaving the crime scene within her apartment; it must be Bruce and Eris. She ends up questioning their sudden retreat.

“Hey! Why are you guys suddenly leaving?”

Both of them stopped moving for a while as they hear the sounds of footsteps strolling in the casino’s ground floor, the same floor where the security room. The Trigger Tycoon isn’t that huge to begin with, so it was faintly echoing from the inside. Bruce’s phone rings the moment it becomes silent, feeling a bit anxious, he notices that it’s only Natalie on the line.

“Hey Natalie, what’s the status?”

“About that, Mason dropped me off a bit far from the scene and guards the car for me, I didn’t inform you guys.”

“So, you’re the one who’s walking all over the ground floor?”

“Precisely, I’m sorry if I scared you guys.”

Samantha ends up landing her palm on her face as she still only see two green radars. Learning the fact that Natalie disables her own radar for fun, she begins to squeeze into their call.

“Nat, you really need to fix your tablet.”

“Oh hey Sam, I just like dramatic entrances, so I turned mine off.”

“Jeez you, did you get any more info other than the one you sent me?”

Natalie snickers on the line.

“I did, and it’s from my buddy Mason. It’s more like a battle plan than info though.”

“Oh, you’ll share that with us right, Nat?”

“Of course, besides, I’m here to assist the twins and yet it’s already over.”

Bruce lets out a small laugh.

“You ladies forgot that I’m in the line, but yeah, thanks for being thoughtful Natalie. Anyways, the cyanide used here disappears quickly, except for the one in the security room. It had a powdered form of the cyanide, so we didn’t stay there for long. Let’s talk this over tomorrow, is it okay?”

All of them agreed as they quietly end the call. Within those three days, the six of them, including Nathan and Penelope Oum, formulates a multitasking plan in the next three days. Samantha deals with formulating a drug that can fight off the cyanide, Natalie creates disguises by programming it within the suits they used previously in a mission, Bruce and Eris keenly proposes a favour with the Casino’s head and staff, and the Oum couple tries to capture CCTV footage of the incident from its security room. The team were very busy till it was time to set it to action.

Three days later, the plan to capture the cyanide murders will commence. By this time of the night, Samantha occupies the role of a Bartender, creating a variety of cocktail drinks with tricks from her sleeve.

“Here’s your Mojito, Negroni and Pina Colada~”

She slides them chronologically in skill, arriving in front of the customers’ places without spilling a single drop. The men there can’t help but clap their hands in amazement and allure while the women stare at her in jealousy. As the customers give her both payment and tip, a snicker was heard by Samantha through one of her earrings, which appears to be a portable communicator in disguise.

“Nat, what’s so funny?”

Natalie on the other hand is disguising as one of the employees who commences on assorted casino games. She’s in charge with one of the “Wheel of Fortune” areas. Hosting the game in a good manner, Natalie replies in a soft tone in order to not blow her cover.

“You’re creating attention despite of hating it, look at the women gazing at you in jealousy.”

Samantha kicks in some new drinks to mix for the cocktails.

“They can just cry in the dirt for all I care… So what’s the status for both of you? Eris and Bruce?”

Meanwhile for the twins, Eris is patiently waiting at the backstage to perform her solo while Bruce is near Nathan and Penelope’s post, which is the security room.

“Bruce here, there isn’t much to say. Eris is about to do a saxophone solo though.”

“Yeah, like Bruce said, I’m at the backstage waiting for the violinist to finish. I must say, I would prefer his role over mine.”

“Come on, a janitor does not suit an independent lady like you, right Nathan?”

Nathan and Penelope agreed at the same time as both of them are observing through the security cameras. The conversation became silent since watching all of footage at once is not as easy as pie. The team begins to blend in with the luxurious and game-infused atmosphere of the casino. In one of the cameras near the stage, Nathan notices one of the guests, who dons a top hat, monocle and black suit, attaches a tiny mechanism at the right side of the stage, it seems that the person is pretending to be lost due to the ample amount of space within the premises.

“Eris, Nathan here. There’s one culprit near the stage. He has that top hat, sir-like aura if you noticed. He pinned something on one of the stages’ sides. Be sure to eliminate him once I give the signal.”

Eris waltzes her way onto the stage, giving off a tiny nod to confirm her move as she begins to play her saxophone solo. Penelope on the other hand spots a young lady in a black, slim and high slit evening gown with a white fur coat. Her move is similar to the top hat in Eris’s spot, but this time, it’s on Samantha’s post. Zooming in, it attaches under the bar’s long table.

“Sam, this is Penelope speaking. The woman in black is a suspicious one, be sure to keep an eye on her. She seems to be one of the culprits.”

Samantha sees a smile from the lady in black as she does it too.

“Hello Madam, what drink do you fancy in this time of the night?”

Lastly, a final culprit attaches the same object in Natalie’s area. She immediately notices the hand of the culprit in a black tux going under one of the tables, the rest have their hands exposed on the tables. Since there is a camera around her spot, she gave a nod to both of them through it.

“Nathan here, the three of you should be ready. There are two people lurking in our area as well. Bruce and I will take care of them.”

A few minutes later, a white smoke suddenly rises up from the objects, causing panic into everyone. But then, the gas doesn’t do any harm like the previous cyanide incident. What’s more, the individuals who pinned it on the spots have anxiety written all over their faces. The two other people run towards the security room where Nathan and Penelope are. They stopped their movements as a janitor quietly stands on their way with arms crossed.

“You… Get out of the way!”

Both of them started to charge when Bruce does a front flip, landing on both of their shoulders as he snaps their necks with his quick legs. The two culprits fell in unconsciousness as Bruce back flips off them.

“Give them the signal, Nathan; the stronger ones are within their area.”

Nathan smiles in excitement.

“Ladies, time to break some bones!”

The lady in black tries to attack but it seems that she couldn’t move a muscle. Samantha just smiles in victory as the woman struggles to move.

“What kind of drink did you serve me?!”

“What drink? It’s a Margarita with a huge kick of Paralysation~ I mean, you did order a Margarita.”

Samantha quickly handcuffs the immobilized woman while Eris and Natalie struggle a bit on fending off the other remaining fiends.

“It seems like Samantha and Bruce are done with theirs, good grief!”

“Stop talking and the fight me, Blondie!”

Eris hisses a bit as she takes along the saxophone and inflicts damage on her target with her kicks. Lastly, she jumps over her target, using the saxophone to suffocate him as she holds it with a pressure on his neck. The target struggles for the women to get off his shoulders as he bumps into some tables till he falls of the floor.

“It’s really hard fighting in a dress I’d say.”

Natalie is fighting in a very quick reaction time with the tuxedo guy. Her opponent has a ton of stamina, but lacks speed, so she still has an advantage. Eris decides to jump in, landing acrobatic-like attacks on him until he decides to throw a smoke a bomb on his area. Fleeing from the scene, Natalie quickly follows him.

“You get back here!”

Natalie tries to shoot him, it did not miss but he’s still up and running as he runs out of the casino. He pushes one of the owners’ bikes as he hijacks one for a guaranteed retreat, but Natalie also did the same. She begins shooting him with her gun, but it misses, even if she aimed on his wheels. Back at the Casino, Bruce, Eris and Sam rushes towards Nat’s Ferrari, leaving the four culprits to the couple as the police arrive shortly. From the screen, Natalie’s radar is ambulant as she chases her target.

“What’s the status, Nat?”

“Oh hey Sam, well, this guy is very good as dodging, and I ran out of bullets.”

The culprit tries to speed up and notices a truck filled with logs. He grins as he tries to shoot the rope off the logs to cause a commotion and Natalie is near the load too.

“Ah what the?!”

The logs and truck are about to cause major injuries on the thrill-seeking agent as they fall.
